I learned a few minutes ago of Tim's death and found myself here.

The last time I saw Tim was after the final mission trip. I too remember the big gulp that week. He lived in my neighborhood and he was always the next bus stop.

I remember Tim as a brilliant and complex kid with a good sense of humor and having an imaginative mind. He was an intent listener and was always willing to talk about what was in his heart.

As someone with a lifelong history with clinical depression and bipolar disorder, I relate as a kindred spirit. I can only imagine the pain he must have felt inside in his final days. Comfort may be found in the fact Tim can finally get the rest he was surely yearning for.

Well said, Austin. I remember Tim as a really intense guy and someone who always wanted to dig deeper into questions of faith and otherwise. He loved to push buttons to get a rise out of people - especially adults - but it was more playful than harmful. He was a good guy with a some troubling issues. It's a shame we couldn't have done more to help him. I know he is in a good place now.
